Blood Drive 12/2/11!
A letter from the Blood Donor Center at Children's Hospital Colorado:
"Hi Jill, I would like to start by saying THANK YOU for hosting such a great blood drive! I am so glad we chose to go through with it and not reschedule (due to weather). On Friday, Children’s Hospital received a gun shot patient who used over 40 units of blood in 3 hours. As you can imagine, this was a huge impact to our inventory. With the success of your blood drive, we were able to somewhat “restock” for other patients in need. We really appreciate all of the hard work you put into the drive and filling the schedule. Your drive is one of the most successful drives I have had in a while. We truly value each and every donor and coordinator who gives of themselves to help us meet our patient needs. Without you and the amazing people who came out to donate, we would not be able to do what we do. I hope that you will consider giving us another chance and have us out again. It is very hard to find successful blood drives, and you hit it out of the park!" Kind regards,
Rebekka (Donor Resource Coordinator)
Thank you Donors!!!!
Zach Davis Nick Haner Robin Seems Elise Foreman Jenn Falkenburg Sonja Beck Jenn Barnes Allison Drake Cindy Vatter Eric Dailey Bill Wallace
Also thank you to the family and friends of our staff members that came by:

So many others came by or offered to donate but had to be turned away because we had a FULL schedule. There were donors from South Metro that took their personal time to come by. We thank each and every one of you!

Hello Dusty, I just wanted to send you a quick email with some recent comments we received from your fabulous quilts!
"She loved her quilt. Purple & pink are her favorite colors and your donation provided both in abundance. Thank you for your generosity!"
"The patient and her family enjoyed the quilt. The patient wanted to keep the quilt next to her at all times."
"The little boy would not let the quilt go."
"The patient picked the quilt out from the inventory on the ambulance and was very happy to have a new blanket."
"The patient enjoyed her new purple blanket that matched her favorite Disney movie character."
"The patient was very happy when I switched out the hospital blanket with the nice quilt and told her it was hers to keep."
"The patient was asleep when the quilt was placed over him to keep him warm. The pt awoke to a brand new teddy bear blanket and smiled for the first time in a long time. Thank you!"
"The patient was very happy with the bear pattern on the quilt and remained fasinated with it during transport."
"The quilt was a great aid in calming him down as we talked about the animals on it. Thank you!!"
"The patient was a nice little girl and loved the quilt. She said it was the best part of her day."
Thank you so much for the time and love that is put into these quilts. Please pass on our thanks! Happy Holidays,

"How sweet, Cindy. Thank you so much for passing along the comments and reactions you get when giving our snuggle quilts to children you see on your emergency runs. You can't imagine the amount of motivation that gives our volunteers."
Thanks again, Dusty (Firehouse Quilts)
