Action Care Ambulance provides in-house continuing education classes for its employees and ancillary staff. See our Continuing Education page for current classes. Instructors include Action Care employees, physicians from local hospitals, and guest educators from local colleges and educational institutions. Emergency driving (EVOC) classes are held throughout the year and are mandatory for all field employees to attend. In 2005 Action Care purchased a PDA Stats Simulaid mannequin. This mannequin allows our in-house training staff to provide real-time simualted scenarios for skills checks and ongoing education. Ted can be programmed to simulate various lung sounds, cardiac rhythms, and other medical/trauma emergencies. Photos from our in-house and emergency driving courses may be found here
Community Outreach
Our employees provide educational sessions for all age groups in which we review the EMS system and what to expect if they ever need to use it. These sessions include a tour of the ambulance and its equipment as well as a Question & Answer session. Contact Bill Wallace to schedule an outreach class.
Action Andy
We are proud to feature a special member of our Action Care education group. Action Andy is an interactive animatronic ambulance that allows younger children to interact with the EMS system on a more personal basis. Andy is available for special events and school activities. He is fully equipped with lights and sirens and talks to the kids about emergency care and safety.
