History
Action Care Ambulance was founded in March of 2000. President & CEO of Action Care Ambulance, Allen J. Powers, was the previous owner and operator of Reed Ambulances, Inc. When Mr. Powers purchased Reed Ambulance in 1979, he started with one ambulance on the street. When he sold Reed Ambulance in 1993, it was the largest provider of emergent and non-emergent medical services in the Rocky Mountain Region and had a reputation of providing outstanding service to the community. Mr. Powers years of service and dedication to the community was honored in 1991 when he received the Community Service Award from the American Ambulance Association. He is a member of many boards and committees in the Denver area.
Before making the decision to start a new ambulance service, Mr. Powers took time to meet with fire and police officials, hospital administrators, and care facilities across the metro area. The response was overwhelming and the support he received convinced him that it was time to bring a new service to the Denver Metro area. A select team of experienced personnel that were with him at Reed joined him to start up and manage Action Care Ambulance. This team has over 100 years of combined healthcare and ambulance experience and a strong commitment to quality service and superior patient care.
